The National Basketball Association features the best players in the world coming together to put their talents to the test against each other. These teams play through a grueling 82 game schedule before squaring off in the playoffs.
During the 1970s the NBA was trying to change some things up a little bit with the formatting in the playoffs. The NBA decided that they would have 5 teams from each conference make the playoffs. With this format, they top 3 teams would have an automatic bye out of the first round of the playoffs and the remaining teams would square off to decide who got to play the top seed in each half of the bracket.
The top seed for the Western Conference was the Golden State Warriors. In the Eastern Conference the top seed was earned by the Boston Celtics.
There was a different system of elimination during the play-in round of the tournament as well. The 4th and 5th seeds would play each other in a very short series. The series was just best of 3 games and
the first team to win 2 games would advance. Seattle managed to oust Detroit in the first round in the Western Conference while Houston beat out New York in the first round of the Eastern Conference.
The Warriors would take on Seattle in the Western Conference semifinals and they had a solid series. Seattle managed to steal two games away from Golden State and pushed the series to 6 games. Unfortunately for Seattle, the Warriors were just too good and they won the series in the 6th game.
The other series in the Western Conference side of the bracket featured Chicago and KC-Omaha. The Bulls were too good for their opponents and they also won the series in 6 games en route to advancing to play against Golden State in the Western Conference Finals.
The Western Conference Finals were intense and the series dragged out to the limit. The Warriors and Bulls battled through the 7th game before the Warriors came out on top against the Bulls to advance to the NBA Finals.
The Boston Celtics were too strong for Houston and easily took the series in 5 games. Washington and Buffalo had a solid series that went to the limit. This was the only series that went to 7 games on the Eastern Conference side of the bracket and was very exciting. When all was said and done Washington came out on top and played against the Celtics to see who would go to the Finals to take on the Warriors.
Boston was certainly favored going into the matchup, but Washington was not ready to give up. They were strong throughout the series and managed to oust the Celtics in 6 games. This 4-2 series victory gave Washington the opportunity to play against Golden State in the Finals.
Unfortunately the opportunity for Washington did not work out the way they hoped it would. They played hard, but they were swept easily by Golden State in 4 games to make the Warriors the NBA Champs.

By Kirk Hambridge
As a player or coach in baseball, the more that you know, the more power you have in any situation that comes your way. Physical skills and how you play the game are the two most important aspects of baseball. They are both just as important. The team must practice hitting and playing in their defensive positions. But, they must always know what needs to done and how to prioritize at all times. Let us look at a few of the expert principles that the players on the team should know in detail.
One of the hard parts for any sport that is played seasonally is being able to remain fit for the entire year. If players begin playing baseball while they are out of shape, it will be difficult for them to do well physically or mentally. This is why doing a fitness program as well as practice drills, is good for the year round. The ball should be thrown when pitchers are doing drills.
Batters should do drills practicing their swing. Everyone should maintain a high standard of conditioning. This way, when the season first begins, players will be available to give their best performance and will not begin from scratch.
One of the most appealing aspects of baseball is that when a batter is up at bat, there are so many different things that you have to account for. In addition to the score, runners on base and how many outs , the hitter has to always know what is going on in terms of numbers. When you first step up to the plate, you can afford to choose your pitches.
If you get behind in the score, your main concentration should be on contacting with the ball and not striking out. If you're ahead, however, you can be very selective and, depending on the circumstances, even take pitches and try for a walk. The key point is that hitters have to think about the counts all of the time.
Players in the outfield have to be knowledgeable about what is taking place in the game and know priorities at all times. Simply put, your job is to catch all balls that come in your section of the outfield. But it is also crucial that you know what to do with the ball once it comes to you. It's fairly common for outfielders to throw to the wrong base. This can be an error that pays the price.
Basically, you should throw to a deter a run from scoring or to stop a runner from being able to score. This usually means throwing to the base ahead of the runner. So if a batter hits a ball and is on the first base when you get the ball, throw to second.
Playing baseball like an expert, as we've seen in this article, involves many factors and everyone has to work together as a team. It is important to learn from the things that you have done bad as well as the good. So coaches should go over games where mistakes were made, not to berate players, but to instruct them on how to do things better next time. Even though the main focus of baseball is to have plenty of fun, no will say that they like to lose more than win.

Basketball Shooting-3 Tips to Increase Your Ability
By shradha wellingnairs
The most essential part of basketball is being able to shoot baskets.
It is, after all, how points are scored, so this is something every player has to focus on. There are many aspects to shooting, and lots of different possible shots. As you're learning the game, however, it's good to be a well-rounded player and have the ability to shoot from every possible position. Here are some tips to help you become better at shooting a basketball. Try back massager after a hard game.
The layup is one of the most fundamental shots in the game of basketball. It's usually the first one that players learn. This isn't really one of the easiest shots, although it is commonly considered to be. A good layup requires perfect timing, as well as an ability to outmaneuver the players who are trying to block you. When executing a layup, push off the ground with the opposite foot from the side of the hoop you're approaching. So if you're doing a layup from the right side of the hoop, push off with your left foot. Following this rule will help you have the best balance and momentum for your shot. When shooting, you should be focusing on the square above the hoop and not on the ball. Although basketball is a very forceful and physical game, you can make your shooting skills better by getting comfortable and dealing with the ball in a more relaxed manner. Obviously, you want to have a firm enough grip that you can control the ball and it's not easy for someone to grab it from you. However, a lot of players will make the mistake of gripping the ball to tightly or putting too much force on the ball when they are shooting. There is proof that this happens when you see the ball bounce off of the rim of the hoop. Try to give the ball spin and follow through with your fingertips. This is so that it goes in the right direction and not just in a general location.
Because jump shots are an important part of shooting, you should also work to improve your vertical jump, as well. If you keep your elbow in and under the ball, you will have more control and will find it easier to aim. When it comes to jump shots, the longer the shot you have to make, the higher you'll want to go. But make sure that you're not focusing on jumping so much that you lose control of your hand and the ball.
It should be done with just one fluid motion. You release the ball at the peak of your jump. Like any other skill, you can perfect your jumping and jump shots if you take the time to practice it.
Shooting basketballs takes a combination of raw talent, lots of practice, and concentration. Everyone has different natural abilities, but you are the one who determines how much of your potential you live up to.
Work on developing your strengths in addition to trying to improve on your weaknesses. Keep these basketball shooting guidelines in mind and, over time, you'll become a much better offensive player.
